The Gothic Labyrinth lets you experience Barcelona’s old city as it should be! During this informative and educational game you’ll get lost in a maze of small narrow streets and learn about the history and architecture of the old city of Barcelona - such as the famous Las Ramblas, Gaudi's works, the magnificent churches, Plaza Reial and much more! Experience the old center in a fun way with an exciting city game.
The game is specifically designed for students coming to Barcelona on a school trip and who want to learn about the city in a unique and fun way. The students are divided into groups of up to 6 people, and each group will be given a mobile phone equipped with GPS and an internet connection.
The groups will find their way independently through the city using the GPS on their mobile devices, which will create distinct ‘trails’ for each group, leading them to specific locations where they will answer questions about the Catalan capital. Each person in the group plays an important role and the teams must work together to answer the questions correctly, which will earn them points! At the end of the game, the team with the most points wins!
Gothic Labyrinth is an effective educational tool because it teaches and reinforces useful objectives such as communicative skills, critical thinking, cultural awareness, teamwork and responsibility.
The groups of students must work together towards a common goal and will need to think creatively and critically to answer the unique questions, follow the commands of the game and achieve success. The game is offered in Dutch, English and Spanish.

The Gothic Labyrinth is a location-based game, a new kind of real-life computer game, where the city is the setting and the players physically go to the locations to answer questions or complete tasks. The Gothic Labyrinth focuses more on learning about the city and its history in a fun, interesting way.
The location-based game The Target even allows people to be the main characters in their own video game, and use the city as a real-life playground, where they can use body armor, mines and other various weapons while they explore the city.
The Gothic Labyrinth not only provides the ideal format for students to familiarize themselves with the various aspects of Barcelona, and to learn about the relationship between Spain, Catalonia and Barcelona through a fun, competitive and engaging game. It can also be adjusted and custom-tailored to suite the groups learning objectives, whether it’s history, geography, social studies, or a combination. Additionally, teachers may accompany the students, and the game could be extended to include practical tests as well. This allows the game the unique advantage of allowing educators the opportunity to determine the level and course materials which are covered during a fun, educational game in the center of Barcelona
The GPS City Games can be played almost anywhere in the city, a village or in a nature reserve as well. Due to the flexible nature of these games, we are able to create new, custom tailored games quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively.
